GoldenMoon Labradors Westminster News

Genny
CH Goldenmoon's Sunny Coreopsis, CGC,WC ("Corey") at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club's Dog Show with handler, Kathy Gertler of Kindred Spirits Handling.

Corey made the cut and is in the top 6 bitches with the Best of the Best in the World Class Doggie Olympics at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show!!!!

Even though we were not in the first 5 winning positions this is a major paramount accomplishment for us. We are very “small town/time breeders” in comparison to those, fairly recent (only 16 yrs experience in the breed), little known, and not in the major $$$ position to show/advertise big time.

So, this is HUGE and we are so proud of our Corey Girl CH GoldenMoon’s Sunny Coreopsis, CGC, WC and her professional dog show handler Kathy Gertler (KindredSpirits Handling) for their magnificent presentation and accomplishment! They both did a wonderful job and the competition was very tough (to say the least) !!!

Kathy says, "Showing Corey at the Garden was an awesome experience- she is a Party girl and a Garden Party is the biggest party ever. She was a great ambassador of the breed she was very outgoing and enjoyed meeting anyone who was willing to pet her. From staff to spectators she interacted with hundreds of people. Soon as we stepped into the ring she locked on to me and performed like the showing machine she is. She was so 'on' the entire time – I was thrilled to make it down to the very end. It was such a rush. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to show her at the prestigious Westminster KC show!"

You can watch the video and see Corey & Kathy at this link (Just move the bar on the bottom to 2:39 minutes and watch through 2:25 minutes) http://video.westminsterkennelclub.org/player/?id=1202222.

Corey will be bred to MBISS Am./Can. Ch. Beechcroft's Study In Black in early March with puppies expected in May and go-home in July. Visit our Puppy News Page to learn more. This will be our 4th generation of HealthyPetNet GoldenMoon Labradors!!!

Thanks for all of your well-wishes & prayers on our behalf!

We are Very Blessed & Thankful,
Ellen & Larry Moon & All the Poochies

The successful team of Corey and Kathy Gertler (her PHA Handler) are partying their way through the remaining eight Florida shows as a "Special". New Addition to the GoldenMoon Labradors Family

Susie, one of the puppies from Sunny's May 2008 litter with Stetson, has joined our family as one of our future hopefuls. Susie is a delightful soul - she is very pleasant and accepted by our pack as one of them. She plays, runs, sleeps, with them but is very attached to Ellen. She's quite the 'social butterfly' and never meets a 'stranger'.

Corey earns 9 show points in two weekends just in time for her second birthday.

Genny
Corey on July 9th after taking Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best of Breed in Hopkington, NH.

For the special celebration this year, Corey was blessed to have the biggest and best birthday party she could pull off. On Sunday, July 13th at the Green Mountain Dog Club All-Breed Show in Essex Junction, Vermont with her handler (and fellow party gal) Kathy Gertler, under judge Mrs. Robert S. Forsyth, she won Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best of Breed.

But this was actually the cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the ice cream and cake.

To explain…

First, on Wednesday, July 9,2008 at Lakes Region Kennel Club Show in Hopkinton, New Hampshire under judge Mr Frank J. Washabaugh, Corey won 2 points taking Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best of Breed.

On Thursday at Lakes Region Kennel Club Show in Hopkinton, New Hampshire under judge Mrs Keke Kahn, she won 2 points taking Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best of Breed.

On Saturday at Champlain Valley Kennel Club Show in Essex Junction, Vermont under judge Mr Thomas J. Touzel, she won 1 point taking Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow.

...and then taking Winner's Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best of Breed on Corey’s actual Birthday topped off a magical week with Kathy! This is very unusual in Labradors especially with a young bitch that has only been in the show ring 3 other occasions.

To add to the excitement - 2 weeks later - Corey’s next appearance in the show ring with Kathy was at Lackawanna Kennel Club Show, Friday, July 25th in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania under judge Mr James Edward Noe where she won 1 point taking Winner’s Bitch out of Open Yellow, Best of Winners and Best Opposite Sex.

On Saturday at the same Shows under judge Mr Norman B. Kenney she won 1 point taking Winner’s Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Opposite Sex.

On Sunday at Bald Eagle Kennel Club Show in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania under judge Mrs Carole Beattle she won 1 point taking Winner’s Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Opposite Sex.

Nine points total in 2 weekends of showing a green, novice girl – magical and tremendous!

Genny earns her Junior Hunt Title.
